BCTP – Barcelona Clinical Trials Platform
The BCTP has as its great challenge to advance the arrival of innovative treatments to patients in Catalonia. BCTP needs to improve the coordination, integration, quality, inclusiveness and speed of clinical research. This will be thanks to the optimization and homogenization of the clinical research processes of its members, as well as the human and technological potential of the centers. In addition, the BCTP will function as a dissemination platform to attract new studies from outside Catalonia.

BiB – Bioinformatics Network of Catalonia

Bioinformatics Barcelona (BIB) is an association for the provision of education and training, the promotion of advanced research, the transfer of knowledge and technology, the stimulation of competitiveness and innovation in the industrial sector, and the provision of 'greater visibility as an international entity. BIB was born to cover the need to generate synergies between biology and computer science, for a stronger union between these areas and for the development of high quality education and training programs in the creation of bioinformatics talent.

CIBERER – Rare Diseases
Mission:Our mission is to be a center where collaboration and cooperation between biomedical and clinical research groups prevail and are favored, with special emphasis on the aspects of genetic, molecular, biochemical and cell research. of rare, genetic or acquired diseases. The aim is to improve our knowledge of the epidemiology, causes and production mechanisms of rare diseases. This research is the basis for providing new tools for the diagnosis and therapy of rare diseases, encouraging translational or translational research between the scientific environment of the laboratory and the clinical environment of health centers.

CIBERER – SEFALer – Animal model phenotyping platform with specific application for rare diseases
SEFALer is a service coordinated by CIBERER through various research groups, unprecedented at the national level and specialized in the phenotyping of animal models with specific application for rare diseases. The Networked Laboratory Animal Phenotyping Service (SEFALer) is integrated into the structure of CIBERER. Research is the basis for providing new tools for the diagnosis and therapy of rare diseases, in this context, the development and study of animal models of human disease plays a central role. Characterization of the phenotype of rare disease animal models contributes to the study of pathophysiology, to the understanding of the underlying molecular mechanisms, to the identification of diagnostic criteria, and to the evaluation and refinement of new therapies. Because most rare diseases have a complex syndromic nature, it is necessary to offer a range of specialized tests capable of assessing the functioning of different organs.
