Estadística Mèdica is an IDIBAPS platform that provides methodological, statistical and data computerization support to the centre’s research projects and related institutions. Depending on the projects and availability, the platform may offer support to external public and private entities.
The main goal is to promote excellence in clinical research and make it easier to obtain resources.
Services
Advisory services
Short-term advisory services on methodology and statistics, such as:
- Statistical design of a study
- Sample size calculation
- Advice on gathering information for analysis
- Methodological and statistical advice on research projects
Projects
Any project that requires more dedication than the one specified in the ‘One-off advice’ section will be provided in accordance with the acceptance of a previous budget and timetable.
Some examples of projects:
- Creation and maintenance of a database for clinical trials:
- elaboration of the eCRD (electronic data collection notebook for data entry via web)
- creation and consensus of the Management and Data Validation Plans with the research team
- data export to analysis systems in a traceable manner
- Statistical analysis of a clinical trial or other project:
- creation and consensus of the most appropriate Statistical Analysis Plan according to the type of data and the objective of the study
- elaboration of the most appropriate statistical programming according to the objective of the study, with emphasis on the
- traceability of the results
- elaboration of the statistical report, collaboration in the writing / supervision of the articles consequent to the studies
