Advanced technological services in the field of wood

Services

  • Species identification in samples of all types of wood. INCAFUST can perform the extraction in situ or the sample can be sent to the laboratory for identification.
  • Determination of the basic physical properties of wood: density, volumetric contraction, hygroscopicity and hardness.
  • Determination of the main mechanical properties of wood: static flexural strength, modulus of elasticity in flexion, axial compression strength and tensile strength, among others.
  • Characterization and quality control of structural elements by determining the modulus of elasticity, static flexural strength and density; and in addition, for the glued elements the determination of the shear strength of the gluing planes, the thickness of the glue line, the resistance to delamination of glue lines, as well as other properties depending on the regulations that are d application.
  • Determination of properties related to the protection of wood, such as the penetration and retention of protective products, the presence of a specific chemical in a sample of treated wood and other aspects that may be decisive in specific situations.
  • Characterization and quality control of boards derived from wood by determining the flexural strength, the quality of gluing, the dimensional variations caused by changes in humidity, the resistance to moisture in test conditions cyclic and resistance to connector tearing, among other tests.
  • Characterization and quality control in wooden floors including the determination of dimensional characteristics (section, straightness, plain, joint opening, dimensional variations), dimensional stability, surface finish characteristics (impact resistance , Brinell hardness, slip resistance, resistance to chemical agents) and also characteristics such as flexural strength or others according to the specific application regulations for the product analyzed.
  • Characterization and quality control in wooden containers and packaging by analyzing the strength of boxes and containers, determining the load capacity, the stacking capacity due to compressive strength or the static flexural strength of the base, among others. It also offers a review of the quality of the wood used in the production of pallets and packaging, as well as other specifications included in the product regulations.
