Genomics

GINYS-CRG-005
Jochen Hecht
Head of Unit
The CRG Genomics Core Facility was established in 2008 and currently supports next-generation sequencing technologies. Since its founding, the CRG has made significant investments in genomics, including the purchase of several next-generation sequencing instruments. Several high-throughput technologies have been implemented to evaluate differential expression, interindividual genetic variation, microRNA discovery, genome sequencing, targeted resequencing, epigenetic profiling, and DNA binding site identification. or RNA-associated proteins.

Services

The field of sequencing has undergone significant change with the introduction of innovative high-performance sequencing technologies. The Genomics Unit of the CRG is currently equipped with Illumina sequencing technology.

The sequencing service is offered to the CRG, PRBB and external users. We perform ChIP-Seq, mRNA-Seq, sequencing of small RNA molecules such as miRNA, sequencing of amplicons, re-sequencing of the genome, and sequencing de novo.

From DNA or RNA samples provided to us, the service includes:

  1. Sequencing library preparation incl. connecting platform-specific adapters
  2. Library quality control
  3. Bibliographic quantification
  4. Performing sequencing
  5. Base call data, sequence data quality control, data provisioning (sequence files, quality files, alignment files)
