The IDIBGI Biobank is the research support platform responsible for the management of human biological samples and associated data for research. This management includes the collection, processing, storage and transfer of samples to promote quality biomedical research. Our goal is to contribute to the development of biomedical research of excellence, making biological samples available to the scientific community under certain legal, technical, organizational guarantees and respecting the rights of donors.

FACILITIES NETWORKS

PISCIIIBB – ISCIII Biobank and Biomodels Platform
Its mission is to provide the highest level of quality and cutting-edge services to facilitate and advance the definition of the best therapy for the patient and close the cycle from basic research to the completion of the clinical application.
Reach: Spain
Status: Active
XBTC – Network of Tumor Banks of Catalonia
In 2002, the Oncology Plan of Catalonia promoted the creation of a network of tumor banks in Catalonia that would serve to provide sufficient samples for cancer research and to obtain useful results in the diagnosis and treatment of these patients. One of the most important resources for the development of these studies are tumor tissues and other samples (serum, cell cultures) from patients affected by this disease as well as healthy control tissues. From these types of samples it is possible to obtain DNA, RNA, proteins and other products useful for research.
Reach: Catalonia
Status: Active
Funding: Gencat
CIBEROBN – Pathophysiology of Obesity and Nutrition
Mission: Assist in advancing the understanding of the mechanisms that contribute to the development of obesity to reduce its incidence and prevalence, as well as complications, in addition to nutrition-related diseases. Through its leadership in translational biomedical research, it integrates basic, clinical, epidemiological and public health research, as well as medical care and education in the public sphere of obesity and nutrition, becoming for all this in a research center of reference with a competitive potential of internationalization and to provide services of consultancy in R&D and companies so much pharmaceutical as of the feeding, as well as the sanitary authorities of the country.
Reach: Spain
Status: Active
CIBEROBN – Fatbank – Fatbank Platform (Adipose Tissue Biobank)
The technological platform called "Biobanks-FATBANK" is a national reference center as an adipose tissue biobank, specializing in the collection of associated samples and extensive clinical phenotyping for the study of high prevalence diseases and in constant increase in our population, such as obesity, type 2 diabetes and the diseases associated with them.
Reach: Spain
Status: Active
CIBERCV – Cardiovascular Diseases
Mission: to develop cooperative actions of excellence in the double field of translational cardiovascular research and training. These actions are aimed at the exploitation, attraction and retention of talent, and must lead to the clarification of the mechanisms of cardiovascular disease and the benefits that can be transferred to the diagnosis, prevention, cure or palliation of talent. 'this pathology and its sequelae. They must also contribute to the prosperity of our society, helping to protect the health of our citizens, contributing to the generation of employment and supporting the development of the biomedical industry within our borders.
Reach: Spain

GETH – GETH Biobank (Spanish Hematopoietic Transplant and Cell Therapy Group)
Working to improve the quality of life of patients undergoing Hematopoietic Transplantation, through research and development of new therapeutic strategies. Its aims are to promote both in Spain and abroad the dissemination of scientific knowledge related to Hematopoietic Transplantation and Cell Therapy, to promote and promote cooperative studies between the teams that perform this type of transplant and provide clear information on TPH and CT, the centers that perform these techniques on patients and relatives.
