The Proteomics Unit of the Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute has been created to support the scientific community that offers mass spectrometry services to the academic and private sector.
One of the main objectives of the unit is to offer a high quality service in the following disciplines: descriptive proteomics, quantitative proteomics (SILAC, TMT, Label Free), identification of biomarkers through the main human diseases, protein characterization and identification of post-translations. modifications (phosphorus and phosphorus enrichment, acetyl and acetyl enrichment, ADP ribosylation), identification and quantification of protein-protein interactions, and identification and additional biological validation of bioactive peptides with potential applications in human health care, including food supplements and cosmetics, among others.
The proteomics unit, in an effort to implement the philosophy of the Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute, works to promote the incorporation of proteomics as a necessary tool for the development of clinical and basic projects in our center. In this line, the implementation of state-of-the-art services allows clinical and basic researchers to apply these tools to personalized medicine.
